The Canvas Creek Experience is About Teams, Not Art.
Canvas Creek Team Building is the only company helping you to create collaborative art with this process. Using our refreshing processes, we have worked with Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, nonprofits, and families, always with the same results. Teams who are proud of what they create together. Teams who understand each other a little bit better and teams who can’t stop talking about the process and what it means to their environment.
Canvas Creek comes to you, indoors or out, ten people to ten thousand. We bring the materials, the energy, and most important, the results! Refrehsing results. Just like a day at your favorite creek.

Team Builder. Entrepreneur. Sales Manager. Sales Trainer. Author. Artist. Speaker. Adventurer. Community Builder. Alaskan. Montanan. Certified Professional Business Coach. Wife, friend and grandmother, Karen Grosz wears a lot of titles and brings the wisdom of each one into every event she hosts. Her high energy can do, will do, let’s do it together, style makes her a sought-after facilitator and the kind of consultant you want to have for your team. Her unique teambuilding process has it’s own TEDx Talk and has been used by over 50,000 people as of 2015.
Karen began her career with several small businesses then moved into car sales at a Saturn Dealership in Anchorage, Alaska. Her success was fueled by her love of all things sales related. Karen moved onto building a large direct sales team which created so much team success the company hired her to manage a $50 million dollar sales field along with creating and facilitation of training events.
Karen returned to her entrepreneurial roots in 2005 with a PYOP called In Good Glazes and in 2007 with the development of Canvas Creek Team Building. Paramount to success in each of these businesses is her genuine spirit and love of setting others up for success, especially in creative endeavors. In Good Glazes was sold in 2015, allowing Karen to focus on the growth of Canvas Creek. Canvas Creek has worked with teams from a local body shop to Walmart’s home office with stops at both Fortune 500 and non-profits along the way.
Karen resides in Billings, Mt. with her husband Paul, and can often be found on a hiking trail or behind a paintbrush.
We begin with your desired result then design the activity to get your group moving towards success.
Canvas Creek Team Building is not about art. Sure, the art is important. But what we’re really about is results. Getting your team, your family, yourself in the right spot to see the beauty of the story, and the beauty of the possibilities.
We believe in what we do, wholeheartedly. We know that life is about embracing the abundance of collaboration. We know we are lucky to do what we do, to create with others, to give people the opportunity to say “I made this.” That is why we do what we do.
Canvas Creek offers team building exercises that use a unique Collaborative Art process. Because we are a process, there are three distinct phases to the Canvas Creek experience: Begin, Become, Believe. During our three-stage collaborative process, teams learn to communicate, collaborate, adapt to change, make decisions, think creatively, and most important, have fun. Together. It’s refreshing to experience Canvas Creek!
When we designed Canvas Creek we wanted teams to have visceral reactions and a powerful flow of creativity. We wanted teams to feel as primal as cave painters, and as empowered as an artist whose work hangs in the Museum of Modern Art.
To do this we would need to break all the rules of standard team building. No ropes courses- even though they have their place, they provide more personal growth than team growth. No crying- the thing people dread about team building, the blubbering stories and “I love you man” moments that accompany many events are the reason many people would rather work than participate. Finally, no Kumbya. Singing around the campfire is fine- but we think conversation and laughter should fill the night- at least until the coyotes howl.
We wanted Canvas Creek to be the company you call when you want art, but you also want business savvy. To have coaches that have been around the block, and energy to inspire the masses. To be the activity that feels equally difficult to all members, and yet like something they can accomplish if they work together. We wanted everyone to be important to the process, for there to be a level, barrier-free, playing field. For participants to go on a journey from a group of multi-generational individuals to a team of cohesive players, in a matter of hours, not days. And, most important, for the process to be measurable and the outcome to be refreshing and full of pride, a renewed belief in the team, with insights that can’t be gained with any other team building process. It was a tall list of goals, but when we work with a team we see these results every time!
